Civilogistix provided professional engineering design and construction administration services for the Caliber Car Wash located at 7032 Market Street in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The car wash project made news headlines concerning the removal of several large oak trees having significant historical impact to the local community. The original approved plans called for the removal of four oak trees, hundreds of years old, surrounding an existing restaurant. Civilogistix completely redesigned the site in order to save the significant trees and the car wash development.
Civilogistix worked hand in hand with New Hanover County planning department to obtain several variances to allow the development to proceed and to enact a new tree ordinance saving significant trees.
In order to obtain a land disturbance permit and for construction to begin, plans were submitted to New Hanover County for a Grading Permit, Stormwater Permit and Demolition Permit, North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for a Stormwater Permit and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Notice of Intent (NOI), also known as an NCG01 Permit, Cape Fear Public Utility Authority (CFPUA) for Authorization to Construct Water & Sewer Services as well as an Oil Water Separator, North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to obtain a Street and Driveway Access Permit and Utility Encroachment Permit, and North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) for a Demolition Permit.
