Harbor Freight – Cumming, GA | Civil Site Design & Fast-Track Permitting

Civilogistix provided professional civil engineering design services for the new Harbor Freight located in the Cumming 400 Shopping Center in Cumming, Georgia. As the project was within an existing shopping center, it was crucial to tie into the existing parking lot grades and ensure the new development blended seamlessly with its surroundings.

A vehicle tracking analysis was conducted to verify that WB-67 delivery trucks could safely access the loading areas. Additionally, an on-site detention pond was designed to reduce post-development stormwater flow rates to pre-development conditions, ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Our team designed and permitted utility connections, including domestic water, sanitary sewer, and fire protection lines. Thanks to Civilogistix’s proprietary due diligence process and strong relationships with local jurisdictions, the project was permitted in under two months. Potential issues were identified early in the preliminary phase and coordinated with the city and county to prevent downstream delays.

Permits were obtained from the City of Cumming, Forsyth County, and the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC). Upon project completion, Civilogistix prepared an as-built hydro report to verify the detention pond’s functionality as required by the City of Cumming.

Cumming, GA is growing fast. If you’re planning a new development, Civilogistix can help you navigate site design and permitting efficiently.
