Civilogistix provided full civil design services for a Dirty Dog’s Car Wash located in Brooksville, Florida. Due to the high seasonal water table in the area, a wet detention pond was designed to treat stormwater runoff. A portion of the site was located in a watershed and bounded by a creek in the rear of the property, limiting the allowed space for the required footprint of the pond.
Additionally, it was required that we follow the stringent code of the Southwest Florida Water Management District. We worked diligently to produce a quality design that would provide the smallest possible footprint and meet all the design requirements of the SWFWMD. Ultimately, Civilogistix was able to accommodate a wet detention pond on site, meet all the WMD requirements, and obtain a permit within 6 months.
We also worked in conjunction with the City of Brooksville to retain as many trees as possible on the site due to concerns from the neighboring residential properties. We were able to preserve the natural beauty of the site by shifting the site to the front of the property, allowing for many trees to be unaffected by the ongoing construction of the site.
It was a pleasure to work with Jesse Staten from PRO Building Systems, the City of Brooksville, and the Southwest Florida Water Management District to complete this project for our client.
