Civilogistix provided full civil engineering design and permitting services for The Steel Group to develop a Safelite Auto facility in Panama City, Florida. From early site constraints to multi-agency coordination, this project required careful planning and smart design decisions to keep things moving efficiently.

The existing site was low-lying and included a billboard that needed to remain in place. In addition, the property contained two existing drainage basins, requiring two stormwater management facilities. The project also had to meet hydrology requirements set forth by FDOT, the Northwest Florida Water Management District (NWFWMD), and Panama City.

Civilogistix approached the project with early diligence and proactive coordination. By strategically selecting the driveway location, we were able to balance site grades, reduce required fill, and preserve the existing billboard. We met with FDOT, NWFWMD, and Panama City staff early in the process to clearly understand agency requirements and align the design accordingly which ultimately helped ensure a smooth permitting process.

Permits Obtained:

    • Panama City Land Development Permit (LDP)
    • NWFWMD Environmental Resource Permit (ERP)
    • FDOT Drainage Permit
    • FDOT Utility Permit

Thoughtful planning and early coordination allowed us to navigate complex site constraints and agency requirements efficiently, delivering a constructible design and a smooth permitting process for our client.
