Civilogistix provided professional engineering design services for the Harbor Freight in the Cumming 400 Shopping Center located in Cumming, Georgia. The site is located in an existing shopping center so it was important to tie into the existing grades of the parking lot and ensure that the new development fits in nicely with the shopping center. Vehicle tracking was used to verify that the WB-67 delivery truck could get in and out of the required loading space for store deliveries. There was also an on-site detention pond designed to reduce the post-development flow rates down to the pre-development rates.  Utility connections, including domestic water, sewer, and fire protection lines, were designed and permitted for the development.

The project was permitted in record time due to our proprietary due diligence process and close relationship with the local jurisdictions.  Potential issues were identified in the preliminary phase and negotiated with the local jurisdiction to reduce delays on the back end.  The project took less than two months to permit from start to finish.  In order to obtain a land disturbance permit and for construction to begin, plans were submitted to the City of Cumming, Forsyth County, and Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission.  When construction was completed, the City of Cumming required an as-built hydro report be prepared to ensure the pond was functioning as designed.

Cumming, GA is growing.  Let Civilogistix help you navigate development and permitting there!
